New Construction Walkthroughs & Inspections

A BRAND-NEW HOME STILL DESERVES A CAREFUL LOOK

Buying new construction doesn't mean every detail will automatically be perfect. As your home moves toward completion, walkthroughs and inspections provide important opportunities to identify items that may need attention before you close and take ownership of the home.

What Happens Before Closing?

Construction Progress
Throughout the building process, we stay involved and help our buyers keep track of important milestones as the home progresses toward completion.

Independent Home Inspection
Buyers may choose to hire a licensed home inspector to evaluate the home. Depending on the builder and construction stage, inspections may take place at different points during the building process or before closing.

Builder Walkthrough or Orientation
Before closing, builders typically conduct a walkthrough or homeowner orientation. This is an opportunity to learn how the home's systems and features operate and identify items that may require attention.

Punch-List Items
Finish work matters. Paint, trim, doors, cabinets, flooring, fixtures and other details should be reviewed so concerns can be documented and addressed according to the builder's process.

Construction Experience Matters at the Finish Line

With 30 years of experience as a builder on the New Jersey Shore, Jim Miller brings a valuable construction perspective to the walkthrough process.  We understand that buyers may not know what to look for when walking through a newly completed home. Our experience helps us ask questions, pay attention to details and help our buyers navigate the final stages of the new construction process with greater confidence before closing on thier new home.

Experience That Matters Before You Close

Our involvement doesn't end when you sign the builder contract. We stay connected throughout the process—from construction and walkthroughs to the final details leading up to closing.
